Another new photography post is up on the photo blog! This time it's my brother-in-law, Cj, and his girlfriend, Taylor! Go check them out!
Okay, one sneak peak... but for real- go check them out!
October 26, 2010
What an awesome weekend. For as long as I can remember, each fall, my
family has gone out to Carter's Mountain Apple Orchard to pick some
apples, drink some cider, and take tons of pictures. Husband and I now
try to get out there each year, even if my parents can't make it. This
year, we brought his brother {Cj} and his girlfriend {Taylor} with us.
Look how beautiful this place is:
Recently, they've paired with Prince Michael Vineyards. They grow a lot of the grapes on the mountain. It was so relaxing to drink a glass and overlook the mountain.
Oh, and these doughnuts. Can you say amazing. I love these things.
Picking apples were so much fun!
We may have tested a few to see which ones we liked best...
Cj and Taylor. So cute.
This year, they added frozen apple cider. Soooooo good.
I've been busy lately. And so has my camera. Just so i don't bog you down with a million pictures of other people, when this is our 'lifestyle' blog... I've created a website just for my photography portfolio.
Definitely go and check in out and let me know what you think! I'm still very much in the beginnings of this and would love advice, opinions, and {helpful} criticism.
I just put up pictures from a Fall Forum I attended of Jake and Patsy. Here's a little sneak peak:
For real- go check it out! There's a lot more up of this adorable couple!
The weather could be one sign, but for us, Fall officially comes when we make a stop to Olive Garden for their amazing pumpkin cheesecake! We also like the never-ending pasta bowls too :) yummmmmmmmy.
Of course, I had to have my coffee!
We also went to Liberty's first home-game in their new stadium! We saw a beautiful sunset, a blow-out of a game, and fireworks!
Did you do anything fun to celebrate the beginning of October? Do you have a tradition that means it's officially Fall?
It's always so much fun for me to sit and think back over the month about my favorite things. September was no exception. Actually, September is one of my favorite months. Fall is my favorite season, I love the warm colors, I love the cooler, crisp days, and I love all pumpkin-flavored things!
September 1st, my friend Miranda and I went and got our 1st Pumpkin Spice Latte' for the season- (don't judge that I've had like 20 this month since)
I am also a fan of pumpkin bread, pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin pie... okay, I'll stop, I know you get the idea.
So, you can see why Fall is so awesome for my taste buds- I love pumpkin! Fall is not however a favorite for my waistline.
September is also my amazing husbands birthday! He's always a favorite, but this month was great since we got to get away and relax at Watuga Lake. Such an amazing time. I love taking little vacations, and I especially love relaxing ones in the sun.
So, a simple list for September, but still equally amazing!
Today is the first day of Fall! I've already pulled my decorations out, had about 15 Pumpkin Spice Lattes', and enjoyed some wonderful Fall mornings.
There have been a few amazing cooler feeling days, and this past weekend I bought some beautiful maroon mums!
It's no surprise that Fall is my favorite season, but it always makes me dread the cold, cold winter that follows. I would love about a month of snow and heavy, bulky, comfortable sweaters, and then it can turn into nice weather again. Anyone know where I can move and find this perfectness?
Also, a year ago today, I met with our Realtor and started looking at houses in Lynchburg. I can't believe we started this process a year ago! We looked at A LOT of houses in the area, and it was really discouraging. I remember feeling so overwhelmed at the process, going into a teeny tiny house, wondering how we were going to be able to fix all of it's problems. I am SO thankful for the house that we ended up with- it's been such an amazing home for us- the perfect start!
Our work in progress so far :) With some of our furniture moved in. We have a lot of work to do, but as Michael reminded me, we are not trying to flip this house in 2 weeks!
Our Christmas Present from both set of parents! I have lived without a washer and dryer for over a year and a half! Even though it is in our basement, I am SO thankful for it!
Thanks again Mom and Dad =)
Our living room with our couches in! We have since scraped the windows. Looks so much better!
My Mom and Latte' snuggling on the couch after many long days of painting, packing, cleaning, moving and unpacking.
A picture of me standing in the hallway. The dining room (behind me) is going to be our next project!
Another shot of the living room! Again, the windows look SO much better, and some furniture has been rearranged.
The puppies looking out the front door. they love their new house and yard! Latte' wants to go outside every chance she gets.
My homemade Fall wreath on the front door!
Looking down the hallway towards all our stuff in the living room.
Guest Room! I got this tan color lightened, and am SO happy that I did. I love the colors, and the white furniture in here! Hopefully our guests will be happy in here too!
