Meeting Family

Last weekend, Mike's oldest brother Paul, his wife Sarah, and their 3 kids, Lennon, Laina and Garrett drove out to Lynchburg and met their newest cousin. So awesome to be able to share these pictures of the first time the older kids held their niece!

Lennon was so cute when looking at her hands and feet. He kept commenting on how little they were.

Laina was adorable with her. She would ask to hold her all the time, but then get bored after a few minutes. :)

After Paul and Sarah left, I caught Emmie asleep in her pack n play like this:

Which is how she stayed for the remainder of her nap. Crazy girl!

Sadly, that is all the pictures I took of their visit to Lynchburg. I guess that's what sleep deprivation gets you! ;)

brunch and a baby shower

Early October we made the drive to Virginia Beach for the last time before the baby gets here. My Mom and some of her friends threw us a brunch baby shower while we were there! So much fun!

First off, the food we had was AMAZING. They had a huge variety of drinks, breakfast dishes, fruit, and desserts. Yum!!

Love this chocolate/coffee punch. Best stuff ever.

The food table! Muffins and bagels from panera, and amazing breakfast casseroles. Sausage, French toast, and a pineapple one! I want to make these all right now!

Opening presents was so much fun- as usual!

My Aunt, Angie- all the way from Arkansas sent the most adorable outfits! The tights on the dress have pink shoes on them!

showered {mike's family}

We {not-so} recently drove home to Virginia Beach/Chesapeake area and Michael's family threw us a baby shower. We have been so blessed, and I may be freaking out a bit on all the stuff that comes with a baby when we registered!

It was a couples shower, so Michael came along with me, and he got to see some of his good friends from the Virginia Beach area.

Opening presents was so fun! How can it not be when you are opening little minature outfits and adorable things for the baby!

Father's Day Weekend {a surprise visit home}

At the very last minute, Michael and I decided to go home for Father's Day Weekend. Last minute as in, it's lunch time, we are at work, and we decide it will be so much more fun to share the girl news with our families in person. We first planned to send some pink or blue flowers to our parents to surprise them, but after researching how expensive it would be to order the specific color and have them delivered- we used the money to drive out there and tell them in person. So much fun!

We bought a pink rose bush here in Lynchburg and left it on the front porch the night we got in- that way my parents would be sure to see it on their way out the door... Tucked inside the flowers was a little note- telling them to get prepared for a lot more pink around!

blooming

What a fantastic weekend! The weather here in Virginia was gorgeous! I finished up my Marketing Research class {ugh, such an awful class} Friday night. So glad it's over- and I got a B! Saturday we finally got around to cleaning up the house, washing the mountains of laundry I have been putting off, etc.

Michael's little brother, Cj and his girlfriend, Taylor, stopped by on their way back to Virginia Tech from Spring Break. The boys grilled out {steaks, sweet potato fries, and fresh zucchini! so good!} played some games, and then watched Cj snowboard down LU's snowflex. Quite an eventful night.

We went to brunch the next morning, it was so nice to sit outside, sip on some coffee, and eat some amazing food! CJ and Taylor left a little early to go pick up their new little puppy, Peyton. I've only seen a few pictures of her, but she's adorable! I can't wait to do a photo shoot for them coming up soon!

Sunday afternoon, I met up with Dj and Danielle for their engagement pictures. It seriously was a beautiful day- and the cherry trees were in bloom! Loved these pictures!
