productive weekend

I am loving how productive we've been on the weekends! {Michael may be a little tired of doing work...}

I'm finally starting to feel more energetic and the 'nesting' phase has hit- full swing! I've organized our linen closet, the kitchen cabinets, our dressers- you name it and I've probably sorted it! We have had triple the amount of trash these past few weeks- but it feels so good to get stuff out of the house! And our spring yard sale pile in the basement is huge!

Progress on the nursery is looking great! I finished up the curtains for both the windows and the closet door! Painted my $10.00 ugly wood dresser white- and this weekend we got the crib put together! Here are some updated pictures for the room {sorry- they were taken in bad light AND on my phone- better ones will be coming once I get caught up on my editing!}

My parents bought us the crib at our shower earlier in October and had it shipped to us here in Lynchburg!

Walking into the room, the dresser/changing table is on the left (the green polka dots) and on the right is the closet, and the glider chair.

 Latte' is already a little jealous of the attention she's not getting from us!

The closet that still needs to be organized! I finally finished making the curtains though!

And the $10.00 dresser I got at a yard sale! It was super ugly before and a dark brown wood- a little spray paint and it's perfect!

It's so much fun to see the room finally coming together! Walking by makes us so very excited!

In other news, we sold my first car, that old green Honda Accord I've been driving since I was 16.  A little bittersweet for sure, but it made room for the purchase on our new {to us} Honda Accord.  Slowly, things are getting all together for Emerson's arrival!

After getting locked out of the house- and watching Michael break in by removing our AC unit from the bedroom and climb in thanks to our neighbor's ladder, we ended our weekend with a lovely date night- trying to enjoy these last few days of it just being the two of us.  Steak dinner, Starbucks, AND cotton candy ice cream from Cold Stone.

Oh- and Christmas music.  New Michael Buble' Christmas AND Zoey Deschanel.

Success of a weekend if you ask me! :D

nursery happenings

We've been a little behind on getting things ready for the nursery.  It was and still is totally stressing me out! {and yes- I know that we can finish it after she comes if we need to- but I am still stressed out!}

This weekend my parents came into town- my Dad and Michael worked all weekend installing a dishwasher! {I'll be posting more about that once the electricity gets hooked up and the thing changes my life!}

My Mom and I went shopping all day on Saturday and picked up a bunch of fun things for the nursery! I thought I would do a little update for all of you that have been asking!

Here's the crib bumper we bought {the pink is MUCH brighter than this picture shows}:
Some of the crib sheets we've gotten {I've been told you can't get enough of these}:

Then, this weekend, we found this fabric for the curtains:

The stripes will be for the windows, and the floral fabric is replacing the closet doors!

Here's everything together!

I've still got to finish up the curtains before posting that picture- but I'm loving the way it's all coming together! :)

love these people

Love these people! For some reason, when we all hang out, the cameras are forgotten, which is so sad.  I have very little proof of our friendship and our fun times! This must change girls!

Last year, I just clicked with these girls from our small group, and we decided we would force our husbands to be friends too.  Luckily, we didn't really have to do that- they just clicked too.
We all went out for a cookout to Andy and Patricia's house one night- here are the few pictures I got of the event:

Zoey is the center of attention of course.  She's so stinkin adorable and the best behaved thing ever.

Me and Michael:

Michael and Zoey.  He was laughing at her putting her legs up on the table... not sure what she was laughing at too...

Andy and Patricia! So cute!

Jay and Audrey

John and Monique.  I love this picture and am SO bummed that it turned out so blurry!

so my goal is to get more pictures of us doing stuff!

tea time

The Saturday that Beth was in town, we got a little fancy and had some English Tea.

So relaxing to sit and enjoy some hot tea- even in the 90+ degree weather, but especially nice to hang out with friends and catch up!

 Miranda, Me, Mrs. Washburn, Jenn, and Heather at our end of the table!

Beth, Christen, and Kristi down at this end of the table...

Everyone got lots of pictures of course!

And since Beth and Christen were in town, we had to get some group shots outside!

 Me and Miranda

Me and Christen- my very 1st roommate ever!

Me and Beth! Ugh I miss her-  can you move back from Texas please?!

My college girls- all from Freshman year.  Love them!

more from jimmy & ashley

phew, finally catching up! enough to finally be posting about this amazing day... pictures from Ashley and Jimmy's wedding.  Back in May {I know- I am that behind in blogging!} they had a beautiful wedding, and gave me the precious honor and taking pictures for their big day.  My first wedding! I was so honored to be a part of their big day- and so nervous for it! The wedding was absolutely beautiful and I so enjoyed spending the day taking pictures!

Enough talk... here are the pictures...

So thankful for this opportunity and can't wait for some of the upcoming weddings! :)

Zoey's 1st Birthday Party

Just some quick pictures from Zoey's 1st birthday party! Lots of fun, and Monique did some really cute stuff with all the details!

The theme was...
picture this
Zoey's turning one!

 yummy Strawberry cupcakes!

Mo made this cute pendant banner out of fabric- so it's reusable! So smart, and it turned out great!

She even made these fun pinwheels and had antique cameras at each table

The guestbook was inspired from pinterest, but she took it a little further, painted a silouhette of Zoey {she's super crafty like that} and everyone put their prints as balloons! Can't wait to see the finished product!

This camera cake was beautiful!

The adorable family! Love you guys!

Always full of smiles! Such a cute birthday girl!!

Some of the ladies from our small group, CRASH.  Love these ladies!

Keeping it short and sweet- determined to catch up on all of this!

christmas in july

Another post from Bethy's visit!  I'm really trying to get caught up, but I'm also in the middle of finishing up school with 2 classes online, feeling exhausted constantly, work, trying to keep the house up, and all the other stuff going on, sadly, the blog isn't getting the attention I would like it to.

It just so happened that Beth's visit fell on July 25th... also known as Christmas in July.  It's also true that we will do almost anything to get something for free (yes, we dressed up as cow's for free chick-fil-a). An amazing local ice cream shop called Mr. Goodies, had their own Christmas in July celebration- where they handed out free ice cream to anyone who dressed in Christmas attire.  My red and green options were limited thanks to my expanding middle, but I did find a Christmas bib, and borrowed some random Christmas-wear from Miranda.

Mr and Mrs Clause showed up in their summer wear as well!

 Mr Goodies really is just a trailer in the middle of a run-down parking lot- but somehow it has that local charm- everyone loves it and there is always a line.  Pretty fun! :)

Beth's cutie socks!

 Michael even came after he got off work! And I had no idea I was so wrinkled! oops.

Randa, Beth, and Mike with their Christmas Ice Creams.  I got a smores' blizzard- just to be difficult ;)

Randa even bought Emerson a fun Christmas outfit and gave it to Michael.

He's so excited for the real Christmas and our baby girl to wear this! :D
