On the job

Sometimes, we question what is going on.

Are we really supposed to be here? Is this what I am made to do?  What is our purpose to fulfill in this life?

Sometimes, we feel stuck.  This can't be what I am made to do here. There has to be something more, something better for us.

We find ourselves questioning everything.

The daily grind really starts eating away at us and we wonder...

We wonder a million things...

Today, I was reading 1 Peter and these verses jumped out to me.

1 Peter 4:12-13
“Friends,  when life gets really difficult, don’t jump to the conclusion that God isn’t on the job.  Instead be glad that you are in the very thick of what Christ experienced.  This is a spiritual refining process, with glory just around the corner.”

1 Peter 4:19
So if you find life difficult because you’re doing what God said, take it in stride.  Trust him. He knows what he’s doing, and he’ll keep on doing it.”

{verses from The Message}

When everything around us has gone up in flames, when we hate our jobs, when everything seems to break, relationships seem difficult, friendships seem fake, it does not mean that God isn't on the job.

It means, this is our spiritual refinement.  Glory is coming- just around the corner!

God knows what he's doing.

I just need to trust Him.

He's going to continue to do what he's doing, and he's going to continue to know what he's doing.

I totally needed this today.  Michael and I both totally needed this today.  How awesome is our God that He puts these things in our path exactly when we need them.  Thank you Lord.
